Year 2 Week 24
Date: 13th Mar 2020 @ 10:37am
This week we have enjoyed finding out about the life of Chris Bonington, a modern day British mountaineer. We have watched interviews of him talking about his 1985 expedition leading a team to the summit of Mount Everest and films of him climbing The Old Man of Hoy as a young man and again more recently. We used some drama activities to show that we knew some of the significant parts of his life and we then recorded these facts on a timeline.
Next week we will begin to investigate wheels and axles in our Design Technology work in preparation for designing and making our own snow vehicle. If your child has a simple toy vehicle with wheels and axles it would be helpful to bring it into school to help with our discussions and investigations. On Thursday we will be having the second of our Healthy Hursthead days. Please send your child to school in comfortable sports clothes ready for a fun-packed day of activity, mindfullness and healthy eating.
Homework this week is Maths reasoning activities. Please also continue to practise the 5x table division facts to prepare your child for the written test next week.
