Year 2 Week 22
Date: 28th Feb 2020 @ 8:04am
This week we have been learning about compass directions. We have discovered that explorers and mountaineers use compass directions to find their way and navigate in difficult conditions. We have had fun using a compass to play simple direction games inside and outside of the classroom.
Next week on Monday afternoon (between 2.50pm and the end of the day) we will hold our Spring Term "Share a Book" session. Our theme this time is traditional stories as we have been learning about these in class. If you have a favourite or unusual story please bring it in to share with the children. On Thursday we will be celebrating World Book Day. We will be reading "Odd Dog Out" by Rob Biddulph and thinking about how unique and special we all are! Please come to school dressed in your school uniform but with a simple twist such as a colourful scarf, stripy socks or a jazzy hat to make you stand out from the crowd!
The homework this week is the final piece in our PRIDE project. The children will cut out and stick on the household items in the places where they should be stored. During the week they will have looked at safety symbols on empty packaging so this is a really good opportunity to look at these items under your supervision and discuss where they should be stored to keep everyone in the home safe. We will also have a written test of the 5x table next Friday so please continue to help your child to practise.
