Year 1 Week 20
Date: 6th Feb 2020 @ 3:57pm
Welcome to our Year One blog.
This week we have been continuing to practise for our Year One assembly "Together We Can Make a Difference", which is taking place next Friday. In Literacy we have been continuing to practise writing using the conjunction "and", which will help us add further detail to our sentences. In Maths we have started looking at place value in numbers to 50 to ensure we really understand the numbers in terms of tens and ones. In Science we have been describing the properties of materials using words such as hard, soft, bendy (flexible), rigid, see-through, (transparent) not see-through (opaque), rough, smooth, dull and shiny. In Computing we have started looking at an adventure game to help us understand that different decisions produce different outcomes. Our homework this week is about old toys - we aim to set up old toy museums in the classrooms and would appreciate your help to find some "artefacts" to put on display.
We hope you have a good weekend and that you will be able to come to our assembly next week.
With best wishes from the Year One team.
