This week we have used our bonfire night experiences from the weekend to inspire exciting firework dances with ribbons and brilliant firework pictures using a wax relief technique. We have also been thinking about why people are wearing poppies. We have shared our own memories of "hard times" and moments that have made us proud.
Next week we will begin to think about the significance of war memorials and the centenary celebrations commemorating the end of World War One. We are looking forward to Mr Howell visiting and sharing his family's story of life during The Great War.
Our homework this week will reinforce the work we are doing on punctuation in class. We want the children to remember to start every sentence with a capital letter and end it with a full stop. They also need to begin names with capital letters.
Best wishes from
The Year Two Team
