Week 22

Date: 27th Feb 2019 @ 5:05pm

We hope you all had a good half term week and had the chance to enjoy the wonderful sunshine! This week we have been learning about compass directions. We have discovered that explorers and mountaineers use compass directions to find their way and navigate in difficult conditions. We have had fun using a compass to play simple direction games inside and outside of the classroom.

Next week the rearranged Mosque trip will take place on Thursday morning for Class 1 and half of Class 2. We look forward to displaying the childrens' work and some photographs of the visit. On Friday we will celebrate World Book Day by dressing up in our favourite colour and finding out why the crayons quit!

The homework this week is the final piece in our PRIDE project. The children will cut out and stick on the household items in the places where they should be stored. During the week they will have looked at safety symbols on empty packaging so this is a really good opportunity to look at these items under your supervision and discuss where they should be stored to keep everyone in the home safe. We will have a written test of the 5x table next Friday so please continue to help your child to practise.

Best wishes
