This week half the year group have visited Cheadle Mosque in Heald Green. We hope to rearrange the visit for those who missed out this week due to snow! We enjoyed finding out about the features of a Mosque, dressing up in traditional clothing, learning about what Muslims do in a Mosque and having a go at Arabic writing. In our art work we have made model tigers using air drying clay. We learnt how to shape the clay and stick pieces of clay together using slip. We look forward to painting them when the clay has dried.
Next week we will continue our geographical comparison of Cheadle Hulme and the Kumoan region of India by looking at similarities and differences between schools. We will also be scientists and set up an experiment to discover which conditions are needed to grow cress seeds. We will think about how to make the test fair and use our existing scientific knowledge to make predictions. We will observe and then record our findings. The results may surprise us!
Homework this week is a comprehension activity ordering the events in a story. Please continue to practise the division facts for the 2x table.
