Week 16

Date: 10th Jan 2020 @ 8:52am

This week we have launched our new topic "Mighty Mountains". We asked the children what they would like to find out about our new topic. We look forward to answering all their interesting questions as the term progresses. Please look out for the blue topic information leaflet in your child's bookbag. We have also started our new RE topic on Islam, learning about what Muslims believe and identifying similarities and differences between Islam and other world religions and views. We look forward to visiting Cheadle Mosque in a few weeks time. Please return the permission slip for the trip to the CMA by Monday 13th January.

Next week we will look at Indian art and create symmetrical rangoli patterns. These will be made on the computer, for the front of our new topic books and with press print tiles, to create an eye catching classroom display. In Geography we will learn about the Indian climate and compare it to the climate here in Cheadle Hulme.

Homework this week is to complete a comprehension activity on a information text about chocolate. Also, to support our learning in Maths, we would like the children to practise doubles and halves up to 12 for a written test on 17th January.

With best wishes for a very happy New Year
