Week 13

Date: 7th Dec 2018 @ 12:37pm

We have had a lovely week, full of exciting activities.  On Wednesday Year One held their Christmas Carol Service at All Saints Church in Cheadle Hulme.  We hope you all enjoyed it - the children had worked so hard over the last few weeks to learn all the songs and to learn their parts, and the evening was very special with a lovely atmosphere.  All Saints Church have asked us to pass on their sincere thanks for the wonderful donations on the night.  Of course, the children were very tired the following day!  On Friday we walked to Ford's Lane Church in Bramhall where volunteers from the church had prepared a super activity morning for us.  The children learned more about why Christians celebrate Christmas and they were all given a bag to hold the things that they had made during the morning - a "stained glass" picture, an iced cupcake and a decorated gift box containing some gold chocolate coins.

We are sending home the children's "Next Steps" and their homework, which is a sheet about carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.  Children in Year One are expected to be able to discuss what is meant by a carnivore, a herbivore and an omnivore and to use those terms when talking about common animals.

We hope you have a great weekend.

With best wishes

The Year One Team
