On Thursday we had a lovely afternoon when Shell and Shannon from Gauntlet Birds of Prey visited us. They brought with them some owls, some hawks and even a Black American Vulture that Shell had reared from a chick. The children were allowed to stroke the birds and some lucky children were also chosen to help with a flying display around the hall. The other animal they brought with them was a very friendly ferret called Diego. The birds were very interested in the builders who were working on the roof, who were also no doubt rather surprised to see birds of prey looking at them through the windows! We have been continuing with our rehearsals for the carol concert - next week we will be walking to the church so that we can see where we will be sitting. We have made some lovely pictures in the style of Vincent Van Gogh's "Starry Night" - but you will see more of them in a few weeks' time! In Literacy we tried our hand at writing some poems about night and in Maths we have continued to look at one more and one less than numbers to 100 in addition to learning how to use our bonds to 10 to help us work with numbers to 20. In Science we have been looking at animal body parts and our homework this week is to find out and write down some facts about our favourite animals.
