This week we have been looking at what life was like for soldiers living in the trenches during World War One. We have used books, photographs and video clips to help us describe the conditions. We have been applying our grammar knowledge, using noun phrases (the cold, muddy trenches) to create powerful descriptions. We have also enjoyed practising and evaluating different joining skills in Design Technology. This will help us to plan and ,over the next few weeks, make a fabric Christmas decoration.
Next week we will continue our Christmas play rehearsals, so please do help your child to practise any words they have brought home. Also don't forget we need the costumes to come in (in a named bag) by Wednesday 5th December.
Homework this week will support our work in Maths. The arithmetic sheet will give the children practise with the wide range of mathematical strategies we have been learning in class.
