This week we had a great day on Friday, looking after our teddies in school and wearing our fun socks too! We have started rehearsals for our Year One Carol Concert at the start of December at All Saints' Church and the children have worked very hard at learning the words for all the songs.
In Science we have started looking at animal classification and are learning about all the animal groups. We have read a lovely book called "Owl Babies" about a family of owls and done some great writing about the story. In Maths we have looked at one more and one less than numbers to 100 - the tricky part is one less than a tens number like "one less than 60" or "one less than 90". We have also learned to compare and measure height. In Design and Technology we have been finishing off our moving puppets and having fun making them work.
The homework this week is to support our maths work - looking at one less and one more than a variety of numbers.
With best wishes from
The Year One Team
